Assets vs. investments
What is our most valuable asset: time or health? The argument is kind of a chicken or egg one – you want time, but in order to enjoy it you want to have your health, you’re more likely to have more time if you’re healthy…and so on.
Perhaps even more important than these assets are how we invest. Specifically how we invest our energy and attention. We can have all the time in the world but squander it if we’re not making a conscious choice of when we pay attention to and invest our energy in. When it comes down to it, these are the only two things we really control, so focussing on these inputs is likely to have a greater impact on our quality of life.

Compounding interest
So by all means we should extend our time by investing in our health (which in turn will have a positive impact on our energy), but in doing so, make sure we’re living each moment to it’s fullest.
As my toughest endurance trainer back in Australia used to say “go hard, or go home”. This doesn’t have to be as macho as it sounds – simply double down on the things and people that matter to you, and end each day knowing you put your best effort into it, because we never know how many do-over opportunities we’re going to get.
Life is short. Until next time take care, stay safe and be kind 🙌
